The 71-year-old singer ignites the ‘The Voice’ stage with ‘Stand By Me.’

The Voice’s senior competitor Jimi Bellmartin stole the show during the finals with a stirring performance of the R&B classic “Stand By Me.”

Bellmartin could perform live at Amsterdam’s Ziggo Dome and release an EP after winning the season. Bellmartin had been the clear favorite since the start of that year.

When he began his audition with the opening notes of James Brown’s “It’s a Man’s World,” all of the coaches turned around at once.

This two-minute, thirty-three-second clip features Jimi Bellmartin performing Ben E. King’s “Stand By Me” on The Voice Senior’s The Final. The song is captivating, and he does a fantastic job performing it, particularly the chorus “stand by me.” It’s really poignant.

When he got to Holland, he was a year old. As a child, he found himself in Vught. Bellmartin has been singing all his life. Not just at parties, but also in the supporting voices of well-known performers like The Trammps, Lou Rawls, Eric Burdon, and Percy Sledge.

He has spent years touring the globe, showing millions of people his talent. The soul singer’s performance of “Loving Someone” won the RTL talent contest finale, drawing in over two million viewers. He was trained by Gordon and Gerard Joling.

Bellmartin’s debut single, “This is My Love Song,” was published in 1970. In 2007, Bellmartin made her debut as the lead vocalist for the funk group The Soul Snatchers. Bellmartin’s distinctive soul tone makes his “Stand By Me” performance on The Voice one of the most unforgettable.
