On stage at boot camp, Sam Black, a contestant on X Factor, proposed to his girlfriend Emma.
Judges Simon Cowell, Nicole Scherzinger, Sharon Osbourne, and Louis Walsh decided not to advance him to the next round, therefore his audition ended happily.
Simon interrupted Sam’s rendition of Del Shannon’s “Runaway,” asking him to sing without the accompanying track so he could hear his voice.
Simon dashed Sam’s hopes by sending him home after consulting with the panel.
We all truly like you, he said, to be really honest. Although we will have to say no, I believe that people will genuinely like you.
“Is there anything I can do before I go? I’m never going to get this chance,” a dismayed Sam replied. Then he summoned Emma to the platform.
Sam knelt down and asked, “Do you think I can get a yes off you?”
A sentimental When Emma said yes, Nicole became very emotional.
“You’ve got a nice guy there,” Simon informed her. That, in my opinion, is probably preferable than us saying “yes.” “At least I got one yes, that will do for me,” Sam joked afterwards.
