The intelligent dog abruptly began barking loudly and leaped onto the officer’s bed after the doctors brought him to say farewell to his owner. 😱😱
There was an overwhelming quiet in the room. The man lay on the bed with his face barely lit by the faint glow of the hospital lamps. The hero who had saved many lives, Alex, a police officer, was now in the hospital. His respiration was hardly audible, and his body was still. The machines beeped in time, but the indications became more concerning by the minute.
For hours, doctors had been fighting for his life. However, the injuries were too great. One of them lowered his gaze and shook his head gently after numerous efforts.
“It’s over,” he muttered.
The surgeon switched the monitor off. Alex’s heart had ceased beating.
A dog had been sitting by the door the whole time. A service dog, a German shepherd, had accompanied Alex on numerous missions. He kept his gaze fixed on the door, as though he was aware that his human was in danger. One of the nurses questioned in a shaky voice after the death was announced:
Could he say good-bye?
They let the dog in. As though sensing the gravity of the situation, he entered the room gently. He walked over to the bed, glanced at Alex, who was still, and let out a little whimper. and then abruptly began to bark loudly. frantically. He leaped onto the bed, using his teeth to tug on his owner’s arm and his muzzle to push at him. There was fear in the dog’s eyes. And assurance.
Then the physicians saw something strange 😱😱
“What’s going on?” the nurse inquired, startled.
— Calm the dog down! — a staff member exploded.
However, one of the physicians froze at that very time.
Hold on, his hand moved!
— GET THE ECG! — exclaimed someone else.
The monitor turned back on after a second. A signal that is clear but feeble. Alex felt his heart pounding once more.
The physicians hurried in. oxygen, defibrillator, and adrenaline. The chances were almost nonexistent. However, he returned. He was still alive.
With his muzzle resting on his owner’s chest, the dog stayed on the bed. His eyes had lost their desperation. Hope replaced it.
Nobody on the staff was able to contain their tears that night. Because instinct, love, and loyalty had saved a man who everyone believed was already lost.
